Dear Younger Me highlights photography and writing by New Americans who are adjusting to life in Colorado. The artists are from a variety of countries including Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Brazil, Ukraine, Nigeria and Congo. Each artist created postcards to their past selves (before migrating and resettling) to share experiences and impressions of life in America and what they miss about their home country. Please join us for an opening reception on July 27 to meet the artists and hear them speak about their work.
The artists are engaged in a year-long fellowship run by Picture Me Here, a storytelling program for refugees and immigrants that partners with CPAC as a fiscal sponsor.
This fellowship program is made possible by a grant from Arts In Society, a collaborative grantmaking program funded by Hemera Foundation, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation and Colorado Creative Industries and administered by RedLine.
