Size Matters? In Month of Photography Opening Gifford Ewing Photographic Studios
You are invited to Gifford Ewing Photographic Studio in Denver’s Capitol Hill District for an open reception, April 2, 2015, as part of the Month of Photography Denver. The show, running from April 2 - June 30, 2015, is “Size Matters?: A Photographic Conversation in Silver Gelatin, Fiber, and Carbon Pigment Canvas Prints.”
I will have prints ranging in size from 16X20 inches on silver gelatin fiber to 5X7-foot carbon pigment canvas prints. The collection will challenge how viewers experience photography. There will be familiar print sizes next to large canvas prints that span the whole vertical wall space, providing a new understanding of what it means to be drawn into an image. Images include iconic Colorado landscapes, Denver’s cityscapes, and various U.S. landscapes. I am excited for you to experience these images at such a large magnitude and medium.
