"time capsule," opens at CORE New Art Space

CORE will present an international open entry photography exhibit in conjunction with MoP (the Month of Photography).  I've been busy organizing this show which opens on March 7!

"time capsule" is an exhibit about the here and now.  The focus is on contemporary culture.  Thinking in time capsule terms helps us communicate something about today, examine where we are in relation to the past, and imagine where we may be heading in the future.  Artists were asked to consider what and who inspires their work; and where and when they grab a camera, a phone or anything with a lens to capture what is happening in the world around them.  Artists were also asked to consider how technology and/or social media has changed the way they use photography as an artistic expression in an ever-changing, image conscious, gadget-laced media environment.

Hamidah Glashow, executive director and chief curator for the Center for Fine Art Photography in Ft. Collins, Colorado was the juror for the show.

Work by 32 artists from colorado, across the county and as far away as the Netherlands, will be on display.  For information about the artists and a preview of the show, please check out this flickr link.

The show runs from March 7 - 24, 2013. Please join us for an artists' reception the evening of March 8, from 6-9 p.m.
