"Time Capsule" - A Photography Show
Show Dates:  March 7-24, 2013

CORE New Art Space is in the process of accepting entries for "Time Capsule," a photography exhibit to take place during the 2013 biennial Month of Photography (MOP).

"Time Capsule" will be an exhibit about what is happening here and now.  The focus is on contemporary culture.  Consider what and who is inspiring your work right now?  Where and when do you grab a camera, a phone or anything with a lens to capture what's happening in the world around you?  How has technology and/or social media changed the way you use photography as an artistic expression?

CORE is calling for photography and photo-based art, which communicates contemporary themes.  The "landscape" changes so quickly in our modern lives that a month, a week, or even a day can hold revelations.  Thinking in time capsule terms helps us communicate something about today, examine where we are in relation to the past, and imagine where we may be heading in the future.  It helps us question what things are important and why the future may be different because of what is happening now.

Juror:  Hamidah Glasgow is the Executive Director and Chief Curator at The Center for Fine Art Photography. The Center hosts 17 exhibitions annually consisting of juried, curated and solo shows that involve current social, cultural and personal themes, communicated through the art of photography.

Please visit www.corenewartspace.com for a complete prospectus and to submit your entries. CORE is only accepting jpg submissions for this show.  Please submit jpgs directly on the website, or via a CD mailed to the gallery.  All entries are to be received by midnight (MST) on Sunday, February 3, 2013.
