The Times has generously given us permission to share some of Cunningham’s most popular photo essays and audio clips from the exhibit. Friends, I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. Our community is dealing with unprecedented circumstances, and our thoughts are with all of you whose health, family, and livelihoods have been affected by COVID-19. Here at CPAC we are grateful that our staff is safe and well as we work remotely. Right now we’re focused on shifting our programs online and doing our part to support our community of photographers and members in Colorado and beyond. We believe that photography can be a powerful tool for helping us make sense of the world and connect with one another – especially in uncertain times. If you are able, we urge you to continue making work, stay inspired, share your photography, and connect with us and your community. To help you do that, we’re about to launch some exciting new initiatives online: Starting April 1st, you’ll be able to browse CPAC's entire Permanent Collection of 800+ prints online for the first time. This extraordinary resource contains photographs by 180 artists working from the mid-1800s to today. Among them are major artists such as Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, and Richard Misrach; to lesser-known masters such as R. Ewing Stiffler; to contemporary photographers including Philip Toledano, Zora Murff, Barbara Ciurej, and Lindsey Lochman.   On April 7th, we’ll offer our first online class: iPhoneography 101 with Casie Zalud. We hope to offer more classes online in the coming weeks.   On social media, we look forward to fostering new points of digital contact with the aim of supporting you as we share resources and inspiration. Announcing Pattern Bloc   The Bloc is a new membership program operating out of Pattern. Its goal is to elevate Denver’s place in the photo world, while simultaneously creating a supportive community that pushes each person’s work and career forward. The Bloc’s structure is based around three principles: MOTIVATION - Short and long-term goal setting - A community that holds you to those goals - A space to work, which moves you out of isolation and procrastination - Monthly critique and happy hour   EDUCATION - Monthly speakers - Photobook Library of over 500 titles for research and inspiration  - Workshops and informal talks with top photographers from around the country and world   REPUTATION - Creating a database of Bloc photographers as a resource for editors and art buyers - Co-marketing included in price - Collaborative promotion through Pattern channels APPLICATIONS The Bloc is limited to 15 members, each of which receive a space to work at Pattern as part of the membership. Membership plus a dedicated desk space is $400 per month, membership plus a flex desk space is $250 a month. The application period runs through November 1, 2019 and the Bloc is scheduled to launch Dec 1. Find more information and the application form here.  Guy Martin's Parallel State Shortlisted for the Aperture PhotoBook Award The book of Guy Martin's Parallel State, published by GOST, has been shortlisted for the First PhotoBook Award granted by Aperture in New York and Paris Photo. Introduction to Blockchain for Photographers Wednesday, October 9 6:30 - 8 pm  The October PhotoVox event focuses on Blockchain: a technology that presents new opportunities for democratizing control over digital and physical products. Local artist Patti Hallock will describe what Blockchain is, how it’s being used in the art world, and what the potential pitfalls are as things stand today.
