Printed on vellum or Japanese kozo and gilded with precious metals, the subjects echo the luminosity of their celestial inspiration. Schneider’s ethereal images of the night draw on the metaphor of darkness and light to express our shared longing for harmony and balance amidst the chaos of the world. This synthesis of form and content, paired with poignant poetry, allows the viewer to enter a space between the real and the imagined to consider the commonalities in our collective consciousness. About the Artist Wendi Schneider’s images illuminate a deep reverence for the grace of the natural world. Inspired by a background in painting, art history and the lush landscape of the South, Schneider’s photographs has been exhibited, awarded, collected and published internationally, including solo exhibitions at The Griffin Museum of Photography and A Gallery For Fine Photography, among others. She is represented by A Gallery For Fine Photography in New Orleans, Catherine Couturier Gallery in Houston and Galeria PhotoGraphic in San Miguel de Allende. Her work is also available at Panopticon Gallery in Boston and the Robert Anderson Gallery in Denver. She sits on the board of the Colorado Photographic Arts Center.
