The Magnolia Street Art Space is a renovation, developed by Jeanie Nuanes King. The building renewal is finished and artists are moving in and getting settled. Mag Street is an affordable and permanent art space in an old warehouse located in the quaint location of downtown Derby. Ms. King was one of the founders of the Art District on Santa Fe and owned a building there for many years. The pricing crunch made it difficult for Ms. King to continue operating an art venue in Denver, so she looked elsewhere for an area that offered economical space for art studios and galleries that could be updated and made affordable for Denver Metro artists.

Another nearby building has also been renovated into a studio and display area -- the Derby Studios. Together these art venues have created a new arts center -- the Derby Art District. This new district not only provides great opportunities for artists, but also emphasizes the important goal of becoming an integral part of the historical and unique Derby Business District and community.

Derby Art District

The Derby Arts District hosts various art exhibits and special public events.  DAD is located just north of Denver city limits. Venues are situated approximately 7 miles north of the River North (RiNo) Art District. Interstate highways 76, 270 and 25 are very close and convenient, and, a new light rail station/RTD serves the area and links the district to downtown Denver and other city segments.
