A Denver-Based Broadsheet Publication
Issue 1 Release Party
April 19 at 9:30 p.m.
Dive-Inn (1380 S. Broadway, Denver, CO 80210)

Black Cube and ArtPlant partnered to host the DIY Art School symposium in January 2017, a focused series of discussions on alternatives to higher arts education. The result of these in-depth conversations is WVW, a large-format publication aimed at continuing critical discourse surrounding lived experience. The title of the broadsheet is a pictogram made from an indefinite repetition of two letters that could convey, among many things, a sense of place (mountains), transmission (waveform), the malleable potential of the written language (scribbles), and the challenge of converting it into speech.

The broadsheet highlights contributions made by the DIY institutional panelists, as well as writers, thinkers, and artists who attended the symposium in January. Contributors include Andrew Berardini (Los Angeles), Michael Bibo (Denver), Molly Bounds (Denver), Michael Brent (Denver), Seth Cameron (NYC), Sean J. Patrick Carney (NYC), Lanny DeVuono (Denver), Matthew Hastings (Boulder), and Carla Herrera-Prats (NYC, Mexico City). The broadsheet features a curated calendar of cultural events across the front range and a full-page artist edition.

The release event for WVW will be held on April 19 at Dive-Inn (1380 S. Broadway, Denver, CO 80210) at 9:30 p.m. DJ set by Porcelain.
