Call For Future Memories
EN [CALL FOR FUTURE MEMORIES - Postcards from Portugal ]
The ENCONTROS da IMAGEMFestival and SCOPIO EDITIONSinvite authors to submit their projects for the Prize FUTURE MEMORIES.
The FUTURE MEMORIES prize is a joint action organized by ENCONTROS DA IMAGEM and SCOPIO EDITIONS, which aims to reward the best author of a photography project related with the universe of Portuguese Memories.
Thus, ENCONTROS DA IMAGEMand SCOPIO EDITIONS invite national and international authors, based in Portugal, to submit their projects on this topic of Portuguese Memories. Applications will be evaluated by a jury of both organizations and a list of three winners will be announced until the 15th of July.
For over a decade ENCONTROS DA IMAGEM took over the task of inventorying, through photographic orders, the growth of the city of Braga, inviting several authors to participate in the project, and their photographic works are now part of its historical collection. In its 26th edition ENCONTROS DA IMAGEMInternational Festival, aims to give a new understanding and dimension to the Project Memórias da Cidade (city memories). In partnership with SCOPIO EDITIONS, the Festival reaffirms the will to promote national authors through an open call, giving opportunities for the promotion and publishing of national artists’ work, as well as to enrich the visual arts’ circuit. With this objective, an open call - “Future Memories" – is launched, creating in this way the opportunity to publish Portuguese artists and to reach a national and international highlight, thinking critically the place of "memory" and "future" in Portugal today.
The project selected by the jury will be published in a joint publication of SCOPIO EDITIONS and ENCONTROS DA IMAGEM.
