Digital Photography 2: Digital Workflow and Lightroom Basics

Learning to process, edit and organize images is a necessary component of the digital photographer's toolkit.  In this class you will learn the essential process of digital workflow utilizing Adobe Lightroom.  You will learn how to  perform simple corrections and adjustments, as well as how to export images in various formats.

From Capture to Output

Students will learn how to produce high quality digital images from capture to ink-jet print. Topics include RAW vs. JPEG workflow,  software choices, and the basics of color management. Students will have an opportunity to participate in a photo walk, calibrate their monitors, and make an ink-jet print during this 2 day workshop taught on the campus of Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design.

Creative Photo Printmaking

Join artist Mark Lunning in his print studio, Open Press, to explore polymer photo etching. This technique is used to make archival photographic prints using diverse plate-making and printing techniques that include photo etching, relief, embossing, chine collĂ©, and multiple plate printing.

Wet-plate collodion is a beautiful photographic process that has made a remarkable comeback. In this hands-on, two-day workshop participants will learn the basics of making Wet-Plate Collodion, Ambrotype and Tintype positives, including history, mixing and handling chemistry, exposure and development process, and troubleshooting techniques. Includes supply fee.

ImagOn: from photo to hand-pulled print

Interested in exploring mixed media techniques? Take your images out of your device and get your hands dirty printing images with ink and press! ImagOn is a non-toxic intaglio-type process. Participants can choose to leave the print as-is or add mixed media elements as well (draw/paint/print/sew).

Documenting the Landscape of Middle Park

Photo Expedition

This two-day workshop explores the tradition of landscape to document the town and environs of Kremmling, CO. Participants will aim their cameras at the western landscape to create inspiring and thoughtful images. The course covers different approaches to documenting landscape. In addition to field work, Evan will also share his technical process with students, including tips and techniques for working in the landscape, digital workflow and RAW file processing.
