CORE New Art Space - time capsule

time capsule:  a photography show

CORE New Art Space

March 7 – March 24, 2013

Artists’ Reception, March 8, 6 – 9 pm

CORE New Art Space will present an international call for entry photography exhibit, entitled “time capsule,” in conjunction with the 2013 biennial Month of Photography (MOP).

“time capsule” will be an exhibit about the “here and now.”  The focus is on contemporary culture.  Thinking in time capsule terms helps us communicate something about today, examine where we are in relation to the past, and imagine where we may be heading in the future.  It helps us question what things are important and why the future may be different because of what is happening now.  Artists were asked to consider what and who inspires their work right now.  Where and when they grab a camera, a phone or anything with a lens to capture what’s happening in the world around them; and how technology and/or social media has changed the way they use photography as an artistic expression in an ever-changing, image conscious, gadget-laced social media environment.

This is CORE’s first electronic submission show, and entries were received from all over the United States, and as far away as the Netherlands.  Hamidah Glasgow, Executive Director and Chief Curator for The Center for Fine Art Photography, in Ft. Collings, Colorado was the juror for the show.

Photography by 32 artists will be on display.  For a preview of the show, please check out this link:
