March 1 - April 5, 2013
Opening: Fri, Mar. 1, 2013 from 6-9pm
Sonja Riegger and Richard Peterson
The Gallery will host two exhibitions during the Month of Photography. The first exhibition will feature the work of artist Sonja Rieger-- both her work in RALLY and in DAZZLING. Her body of work spans over 30 years; Rieger is known for her large color photographs depicting urban Southern landscapes eerily lit by red neon lights. In the March exhibit we see her turn her gaze to American subcultures from the black transgender community in Birmingham to the Klu Klux Klan rallies of the '70s. Exhibited in collaboration with beta pictoris gallery. Read more about Sonja.
The second exhibition will feature work by gallery artist Richard Peterson.
For the Month of Photography we are hosting an exhibition of Richard Peterson's work including collaborations with Sydney Peterson.
"Right after the idea of the Flood had simmered down,
A rabbit stood still in the clover and swinging flower-bells, and said a prayer to the rainbow through the spider's web."
-Arthur Rimbaud
Richard Alden Peterson, who's old-school Punk photography was showcased at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver last year, expands into other bodies of work with this new show; it includes five new collaborations with Sydney Kovac Peterson.
This will be hosted in conjunction with Sonja Rieger's photography.
